 Maria Gillen is a medicinal storyteller in Cork, very interested in what wisdom enduring myths and legends have to offer the modern world. A drama therapist who uses story in corporate, healthcare, post prison services and other settings, she was 2018 and 2019 winner of the Mick McCarthy All Ireland Competition.

 Maria Gillen is a fourth-generation traditional Irish storyteller from Cork City in the south of Ireland. She was brought up where the wisdom lives in the stones, and is the current Storyteller in Residence for Sheehan's Storytelling 300-year-old Cottage in Finugue, Co. Kerry.
